Frequently Asked Questions
- Where do I find my code?
Your code is printed on the inner back cover of your physical book — a 20-character alphanumeric string in the format
TBOF-Vx-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XX. The same location is used for all four volumes; look for the dotted-border box near the centre of the inner back cover, beneath a scratch or peel sticker.Illustrations are representative. Your actual book's printed code may vary slightly. Real photos will replace these once the first print run ships.Volume 1 Volume 2 Volume 3 Volume 4 - Can I request a replacement if the code is damaged?
Yes. Email support@backendofluck.com with a clear photo of the damaged code area and your proof of purchase (order confirmation, receipt, or Amazon order page). We'll verify ownership and issue a replacement code within two business days.
- I bought through Amazon — how do I redeem?
Same flow as a direct purchase. Open your book, copy the code from the inner back cover, and redeem it here.
- I bought on thebackendofluck.com — how does it work?
The code is auto-delivered to your email. Click the link in the email, sign in with GitHub, and you're done.
- Can I share my code with a friend?
No. One code grants access to one GitHub account only. Codes are personal and non-transferable.
- I lost access to my GitHub account. Can I reset the redemption?
Yes. Email support@backendofluck.com with proof of purchase and we'll assist.
- I changed employer and lost my old email — do I lose access?
No. Access is tied to your GitHub account, not your email. As long as you keep the GitHub account, your access stays.
- Can I resell my code?
Codes are non-transferable. Reselling voids access and may trigger revocation.
